Sporting Highlights
Athletics
On behalf of the St Joseph’s staff, we would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who was involved in the Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 5th May. It was so wonderful to welcome so many parents and grandparents back to this event.
The weather held out for a beautiful day at the track and we were thrilled to see all students participate, giving their best effort and demonstrating a positive attitude! There were a lot of smiling faces on the track and in the grandstand. Many students pushed themselves to achieve their very best on the day.
A school event like this takes many hands to make it work and the day would not have been possible without the hard work and assistance of several members of St Joseph’s community! We are so appreciative of your time and support!
Special mention must go to:
- Terry Collins, Paul Nolan, Justine Owens, Julie Kiem, Tammy Wilson, Nathan Zervos, Lauren Flynn, Kristy Hatherly and Ben & Ashlea Tutton, for their amazing efforts supporting the field events!
- Mrs Brand and all of the mums and dads who pitched in to provide lunch and snacks for the children and spectators at the carnival.
- And anyone else who jumped into action when they saw a need to assist on the day.
Each of the 4 colour houses cheered on their team mates with pride, and kept their areas clean and tidy. At the completion of the event the House point results were as follows:
- Blue House – 427 points
- Green House – 407 points
- Gold House – 301 points
- Red House – 222 points
A big congratulations to the Blue House, who were victorious on the day!
Students in Kindergarten and Year 1 received their ribbons at the carnival, but we celebrated our winners today at the Year 2-6 Ribbon presentation.

Congratulations also go to the following students who will be representing St Joseph’s at the Regional Athletics Carnival, which will take place at the Fearnley-Dawes Athletics Track on Friday 11th June
