Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Parent School Expenditure Survey
Each year, St Joseph’s identifies a set of school priorities to ensure our resources are used wisely and effectively to support student learning, wellbeing, and the smooth operation of the school. Over recent years, these priorities have included:
- Installing interactive screens in every classroom to enhance modern learning practices.
- Introducing The MAT Life Skills Project to support students’ social and emotional wellbeing.
- Refurbishing classrooms with contemporary, flexible furniture that encourages both independent and collaborative learning.
As valued partners in our school community, we warmly invite you to complete a short survey to provide feedback on what matters most to you. Your input will help inform our priorities for 2026 and ensure that St Joseph’s continues to provide an excellent learning environment for all students.

Principal’s Awards Celebration
Monday’s Principal’s Awards party was a highlight of the term! One of my favourite parts of the term is celebrating the students who have received a Principal’s Award – it’s wonderful to congratulate them, treat them, and take the time to get to know them better.
A big well done to all our Term 3 recipients! I look forward to recognising our next group of students who are applying themselves with dedication and enthusiasm to their learning.

Play and Stay Morning – Teddy Bears Picnic
On Wednesday we held our final Play and Stay morning for the term with a delightful Teddy Bears Picnic theme! Children and their teddies filled the space with laughter and fun as they decorated biscuits with icing, created and wore their very own teddy bear ears, and enjoyed playtime with new friends.
This initiative has been a wonderful success, and it has been fantastic to see such high levels of engagement from so many families. We thank everyone who joined us and helped make these mornings so special – the joy and connection have truly been heartwarming!

Staff Update
Today we farewell Mrs Gabriele Hawthorne as she begins her maternity leave to welcome her second child. We wish Gab and her family all the very best during this exciting time. For the remainder of the year, Miss Hannah Butler and Mrs Carolyn Delore will be teaching 2 Gold, ensuring continuity and support for the students.
Staff Development Day
Our first day back in Term 3, Monday 13th October, will be a Staff Development Day. Our teachers will focus on the new HSIE syllabus, preparing to implement it in 2026 with engaging and effective learning experiences for all students. Please contact OOSH if you require care for your children on the day.
Library and Quad Building Project Update
Exciting progress is happening around our school! The roof on the new Quad shelter is nearing completion, providing a wonderful new space for students to gather and learn. Inside the Library, lino is being installed in the Resource Room and toilet areas, and new bookshelves and window seats are being crafted to create inviting and functional learning spaces.
Planning for flexible and contemporary furniture is also underway, ensuring that both the Library and the Quad will be modern, welcoming, and adaptable spaces for students to explore, collaborate, and enjoy. We look forward to sharing these improvements with our school community very soon!

We wish all our families a safe and relaxing holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back next term!
Karen
